TRANSITION PROCESS & TIMELINE Mayor-elect Mike Purzycki’s transition team consists of three Senior Advisors, an Executive Committee, 11 committees generally intended to reflect the City of Wilmington’s department structure, and two staffers. Each committee includes between 8 – 12 individuals who are familiar with the City’s operations in their committee’s area of focus, including a Chair for each committee. The substantive work of the committees and transition team will proceed as follows: Thursday, November 17, 2016 Full Transition Team Meeting Full team meeting to introduce the Mayor-elect and all members of the transition team and outline the scope of work and overall timeline. At the end of this meeting, all committee members will be given materials for review. Monday – Tuesday, November 21-22 Committee Breakouts, Round 1 Committee members will be expected to have reviewed all relevant materials and to have prepared items for discussion, including any questions. Each City department will deliver its FY17 budget presentation to its corresponding committee. Staff will facilitate discussion and take minutes. After the meeting, staff will send summaries to committees for review and comment. Staff will send these materials to the Executive Committee for review prior to the second round of committee meetings. Monday – Tuesday, December 5-6 Committee Breakouts, Round 2 Staff will facilitate deeper discussion and take minutes. Following the meeting, staff will send summaries out to committees for review and comment. Staff will then summarize and send all materials to the Executive Committee for review. Staff will prepare transition team final report in consultation with Executive Committee. February: Transition Team will release final report to public.
